About the role

This role reports to the Head of People and Development and works in close partnership with the OH&S Committee, the Risk and Compliance Manager and People and Development Team to develop and implement OH&S business goals into actionable priorities across the organisation. This is achieved by proactively identifying and resolving OH&S risks, operational safety and wellbeing issues and, under guidance, leading the implementation of an OH&S strategy. Promoting a safety-first culture with the emphasis on ‘you see it, you own it' culture will be a key component of the role.

About you
The Occupational Health and Safety Advisor is an OH&S expert with highly developed analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills. You will be responsible for the coordination, development and implementation of all components associated with OH&S plans, including the provision of advice and delivery of practice improvement initiatives. The Occupational Health and Safety Advisor has a rigorous and thorough approach to work and is motivated by the opportunity to drive and promote continuous improvements to OH&S at the Victorian Ombudsman.

Applications close midnight Sunday 9 December 2018.
