The Opportunity

This is an exciting position for an experienced Service Engineer- Mechanical who wishes to further their career working with advanced automation systems.

The successful candidate will have excellent mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in design, build and installation of advanced manufacturing/automation systems, including programming and fault finding on a wide variety of industrial machinery, field networks and PLCs.

The key responsibilities will be:


  • Perform mechanical maintenance on Scott built machines and other equipment our clients may have
  • Perform breakdown maintenance as required
  • Use workshop machinery to produce mechanical parts.
  • Install and commission machines, local, interstate and international.
  • Be responsible for outcomes of workmanship and be able to work independently.

Customer Service (Internal /External)

  • Ensure the company is represented in a professional manner when dealing with customers..
  • Provide technical assistance directly to customers and other SCOTT staff.
  • Respond to all customer enquiries.

Technical Support.

  • Provide technical assistance to project and other service engineers.
  • Whilst providing the required technical support, proactively source other opportunities available to provide further services

To be successful you will be:

  • Qualified Fitter & Turner or Mechanical Technician – trade certificate
  • Preferably a dual trade Mechanical & Electrical
  • Demonstrating an ability in welding (MIG & TIG); operation of lathes, mill, drill and other plant
  • Experienced in using computers
  • Experienced with general equipment / instrumentation installations.
  • Able to learn new computer, robot or PLC software
  • Comfortable with the construction and installation of Mechanical and Electrical machines.
