The role will see you responsible for the providing sound level of advice and guidance to a range of stakeholders across the Company with respect to Hardware Engineering activities.

The role will also see you working (but not limited) on the following:

  • Under general supervision, perform the following assignments individually or as part of a team:
  • Carry out engineering assignments requiring sound hardware engineering knowledge, experience and application. This can include one or more of the following:
  • ➢ Research, design, document, prototype/develop, manufacture and test COTS/MOTS and/or complex bespoke mechanical, electrical, electronic, and computing systems
  • ➢ Design and develop for installation, hardware components and assemblies into chassis, racks, cabinets, workstations, customer facilities, and/or shelters
  • ➢ Plan, direct, review and coordinate preparation of project documentation to ensure customer requirements are achieved whilst following company policies processes and procedures
  • ➢ Assist with preparation of specifications for request for tender and subsequent down select and evaluation of potential vendors
  • ➢ Assist with preparation and analysis of test reports
  • Demonstrate initiative in developing and improving systems and procedures, including participation in ongoing quality initiatives
  • Provide relevant data to support technical decision making to effect the minimisation of risk
  • Contribute to scoping and estimation of hardware engineering tasks
  • Participate in lessons-learnt activities

To be successful for this role, you will need (but not limited to) the following:

  • Experience in development methodologies on complex modern hardware-intensive systems using a documented process
  • Substantial experience across the hardware/systems engineering lifecycle, methods, tools and techniques
  • Substantial experience in engineering management, risk mitigation and business improvement methodologies
  • Computer literacy with an ability to produce, analyse, and interpret reports and management information
  • Intermediate skills and experience in the use of MS Office and other relevant software packages and applications
  • Substantial experience working in an engineering project environment (preferably within the defence industry)
  • Previously held or eligible for an NV-1 security clearance
  • Maritime defence experience (ideally)
